Matthew J. Sabo, DPM FACFAS created The Foot and Ankle Wellness Center of Western Pennsylvania in 2007 to serve the Armstrong, Butler and surrounding counties with all their foot and ankle needs. Dr. Sabo earned his Bachelor of Science degree at East Stroudsburg University in pre-medicine in 1997, graduating in an accelerated pre-medicine program. He continued his education at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine where he earned his medical degree in 2000. While at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Sabo received an award for academic excellence. He then went on to complete a forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgical residency program at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Sabo has served as a delegate and vice president of the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association Erie Northwest division. He has spoken at numerous conferences and has contributed chapters to the Hershey Board Certification Review manual as well as articles in podiatric medical journals. He currently serves as the associate director of research at The Snyder Institute of Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Dr. Sabo currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Sabo has been serving the Armstrong, Butler, and surrounding counties since 2002. He is Board Certified in foot surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Founding member and Fellow of both American Society of Podiatric Surgeons and the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing.
Dr. Sabo specializes in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, complex wound care, limb salvage, research, and podiatric care.
Steven Schaeffer, DPM joined The Foot and Ankle Wellness Center of Western Pennsylvania in 2015. Dr. Schaeffer comes to us from his hometown of Hershey, PA. Prior to attending college, Dr. Schaeffer served a mission for his church in the country of New Zealand.
Following this, he then earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT in 2008. Upon graduation, he attended podiatry school at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. It was during these years that his love for the profession grew. Dr. Schaeffer continued his clinical and surgical education and training and recently completed a forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgical residency program through the Heritage Valley Beaver Podiatric Residency Program.
Dr. Schaeffer is excited to join us in our Monaca, PA office and our Moon office and serve the members of the community with their foot and ankle needs.
Dr. Zac Egidi is excited to return to his home in the Pittsburgh area. His hometown is Monessen, PA. Dr. Egidi joined FAWCPA in September of 2019 and is seeing new patients at our Moon Township office.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering at Alfred University. He then went on to obtain a Master of Science in biotechnology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. During his college years, he spent a lot of time shadowing podiatric physicians and loved the patient interaction and services performed by these doctors. He then went on to complete his podiatric medical education at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, OH. His 3 year medicine and surgical residency was completed at LECOM Health Millcreek Hospital in Erie, PA. During his residency, he completed a masters degree in medical education and served as chief resident of the podiatry program.
Dr. Egidi specializes in forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery and medicine.
Dr. Egidi is excited to provide foot and ankle care to the western PA community.
Dr. Kevin Stonestreet, DPM joined The Foot and Ankle Well ness Center of Western Pennsylvania in 2012. Dr. Stonestreet comes to us from his hometown of McDonald, Ohio. He will be spending time in our Butler, Grove City, and Ford city offices. Dr. Stonestreet earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from The Ohio State University in 2008. From there, he continued his education at The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned his medical degree in 2012. He completed his postgraduate education here at The Foot and Ankle Wellness Center of Western Pennsylvania, where he learned to treat all foot and ankle aliments. Dr. Stonestreet is board certified in wound care through the American College of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. Dr. Stonestreet looks forward to continuing treating members of the local communities for years to come.
